Description of Musschenbroek's first microscope in Johannes Zahn, 1702. Oculus Artificialis Teledioptricus Sive Telescopium.

Zahn described this first model by Musschenbroek in Latin. According to Zahn, the objectives could be made in ivory, horn, or hardwood (probably Lignum vitae). The various specimen holders were varied in shape so that they could accommodate various specimen types.
