Microscopes from "The Back Wall"

During the next year, Dr. Golub will donate additional microscopes to the Golub Collection at UC Berkeley. These new microscopes will the most celebrated in the Golub Collection. They are representatives of the most important instruments in the History of Microscopy. Included in this special subset of the Golub Collection are microscopes from John Marshall, Edmund Culpeper, George Adams, Jean-Baptiste Noel Chiquet, Alexis Magny, William Cary, Musschenbroek, and others. In addition, the Collection will house several important books pertaining to microscopy. Included in this acquisition will be Micrographia by Robert Hooke (1664).

At the present time these microscopes are not housed in the Berkeley Golub Collection. We are seeking donations to build two new display cases that will be added to the Golub Collection display area in VLSB on the Berkeley campus.
These cases will be dedicated to the display of the Microscopes and Books in the Golub Collection from "The Back Wall".
