The stage is a solid brass rectangle with a circular cutout. The three attachments, two slide clips and the bull's eye lens, clamp to the stage.

Below the stage is an interesting set of aperture discs. The top is a series of holes. The bottom is a slot. Sliding the two together produces a spot of transmitted light at different positions along the stage.
