The stage movement mechanism is via the Turrell-type rack & pinion.
A: Lateral (Y); B: X movement of the stage.
The lower pinion (C) is for the condenser focus.

Fine focus is the "Long Arm" type. The thumbscrew (A) pivots a long lever that lifts or lowers the objective mount. Thumbscrew B fixes the tube mount on place.
