The body of the draw tube is marked 1-5 as the starting focus positions for the different objectives.
Similar to the Culpeper tripod microscope, the Sterrop microscope body is supported by an outer friction tube. This tube is supported above the specimen stage and the mahogany base by three legs. The legs for both levels are contiguous, as opposed to the Culpeper model where the legs of one level alternate with the other level.
The upper markings on the microscope body are objective positions. The lower markings are for positioning the Lieberkuhn reflector (now missing).
