The light wood sliders (N1, N3) contain insect specimens. The specimens are sandwiched between two mica sheets. The assembly is then held into place by a brass O-ring.
The six bone sliders contain plant specimens. They are mostly wood cross sections.
There are six ebony sliders for supporting opaque samples. Only white disks or pads remain.
