Fine focus mechanism showing how the central shaft traverses through the center of the main pillar.
The Lieberkuhn is screwed into a holder (A) separate from the sample stage (B) to allow independent movement of the two. The stage holder dovetails (white arrow) into a slotted mount connected to the main octagonal support pillar.

The circular objective holder fits onto the top of the support pillar. The locating pin (black arrow) secures the microscope body wheel from rotating when the objective wheel is moved.

The mirror with this specimen has clear glass on both sides. The glass is undoubtedly a modern addition. Dia=3.0cm.
Underneath the base and embossed on the main leg is "Cu". The screw to the right fixes the mirror. You cam also see how the other two legs can fold for storage.
