Martin solar microscope focus mechanism
The top rack & pinion mechanism moves the objective lens relative to the sample. This is the primary focus mechanism.
The lower rack & pinion mechanism changes the microscope tube length (distance between the aperture and Field lenses). Both the rack and pinion are damaged.
